Intimate Lombarda. La Fuente de los Cantos

The source of the songs, or la fuente de los cantos, is the result of a very meticulous and in-depth project, put together with the aim to unite the different musical forms of Spanish pop culture, in the most pure, traditional, and intimate way possible.

Three of Lombarda's members come together to create this intimate trio. Their style is different in comparison to Lombarda's. Lombarda Intimate offers a diverse repertoire of various traditions, that have taken place throughout the year, giving an entertaining and educational concert at the same time.

These entertaining and didatical concerts give Lombarda Intimate the opportunity of not only playing interesting songs (some of which have been brought back from the past), but also explaining the traditions and aim of these songs. The group's aim is to help their audience to understand how these songs were developed, and the traditions and the way of life at the time that these old songs were invented, and how closely linked they are in the Andalusian identity.

During the show, the audience is able to appreciate an array of instruments used by the group. Stringed instruments as well as percussion are utilized. Many of these instruments are quite odd and unconventional, but they are used with inventiveness and talent in order to accompany the various traditional songs.

Some of these unconventional instruments include; mortar and pestle, anís bottles, pails, shells, tambourines, jingle bells, castanets, zambomba and many more. Conventional string instruments such as the spanish mandolin, lute, guitar, and violin, are also used on stage, contributing their sounds to help create an authentic musical essence. During their concert La fuente de los Cantos, old songs are brought back to life and floursih on stage, magically brought to the audience by Lombarda Intimate.

The concerts consist of the various traditions held throughout the year, both religious and pagan, popular festivals and cultural events. Their songs include Christmas carols, lullabys, carnaval songs, work songs, romance songs, children's songs and many more, offering a large showcase of traditional spanish music, that unfortunatley is dying with each passing year.

The members of this concert include:

  • Sixto Alejandro Moreno: violin, flute, spanish mandolin, voice and percussion
  • Francisco Javier Moreno: guitar, spanish mandolin, voice and percussion
  • Rosa Moleón: spanish mandolin, guitar, voice and percussion

The length of the concert is roughly an 1 hour 10 mins - 1 hour 20 min.

The group needs at their disposition a music system (if the concert ground is large), 6 microphones and 2 screen monitors. They will also need a dressing room, washroom and 3 bottles of water.

The stage should have a minumum of 5 x 4 meters with 3 chairs without armrests.
